Lots of good options in the $10,000 range
IN TERMS OF NEW CARS
The Nissan Versa and Hyundai Accent/Kia Rio all have stripped down versions with starting prices under $10,000 -- and that's for an 09 model! We saw an ad recently for an 08 Accent for $8,900! It's sad dealers are in such trouble, but it sure is good news for the rest of us. There are some serious, serious bargains on the market today.
Other entry-level cars that give you a managable payment -- and a better chance of getting approved for a loan -- include the Toyota Yaris or Matrix, the Chevy Cobalt or Malibu, the Ford Focus or Fusion, the Smart ForTwo, and, of course, the Honda Fit. Suzuki has five 09 models starting under $15,000, and that includes an SUV and an all-wheel drive vehicle.
